I recently returned from six weeks in South Africa, speaking, consulting, and working with some pretty extraordinary people and organizations. One of the highlights was the Reinvention Fest, where I witnessed companies reinventing how they do business, lead their people, and prepare for what’s next. Not because change is easy, but because standing still is no longer an option.

And it got me thinking…

Many people are afraid to travel somewhere new, try something different, challenge an old assumption, or step outside what’s familiar. I get it. The unknown can be scary.

But you know what scares me even more? Getting stuck!

Stuck doing what we’ve always done. Stuck waiting for things to settle down. Stuck hoping the world will somehow go back to normal. Now THAT’S a haunted house I don’t want to live in!

As we celebrate Halloween  and head into the final stretch of 2026, maybe the scariest question isn’t “What if I try something new and it doesn’t work?” Maybe it’s “What happens if I don’t?”

So here’s my invitation: Don’t get stuck on Disruption Lane. Move to Experiment Ave!

Try something. Test an idea. Take a little risk. You don’t have to reinvent everything overnight. Just be willing to knock on a new door. “Trick or Treat”!

And if I can help you or your team find your way through the chaos, I’m here.  Happy Halloween!
